Hey Guys and Gals,
Was told about this site by a fellow named Tony from Fredricksburg Va. I guess he was a hangaround with ya'll before he came to Fla. He's hanging around with us here at the Bay Area Chapter of The Alternative MC. He seems like a decent enough guy. I also looked around your album and it looks like ya'll have a lot of fun riding sober and free. I also saw someone I've known for a long time at one of your wing dings, and that was Breeze from the FDMC down here in the sunshine state. Heck, I've been to two of his weddings! Well, If ya'll ever get down this way give me a holler and I'll try to see to it that you have some fun and make a few meetings so you stay outta trouble.
Respects

Hi, I'm Theresa from Fredericksburg and I went to my first ever Bash

I had such a wonderful time--met good people, ate good food and the
weather was great on Sat. I met Momma Bear, Dap and Carol, Bullet
and so many more friendly people.
I am the one running around with a camera taking pictures of
everything and everybody!!!
I had no idea what to expect, but I tell you, I had a fantastic
time. Theresa

So great to meet you guys at the Doobie Brothers concert tonight. I love the "camel". We never go backwards only forward. Sobriety is a wonderful way to live and all we have depends on it. I love the support you guys offer one another. I am the Executive Director of a small charitable organization that offers retreats and prison outreach for those infected by HIV/AIDS. Many folks now coming to us also have substance abuse issues. If at any time you all might want to do a fund raiser to support these efforts contact me at www.transformationretreats.org. Thanks and happy riding!!

Just found your site via a search for Kim Bodell. Kim and I grew up together, went to school, roommate, (before he went into the Marines at 28), and kept in touch through out the years. It was hard to accept the fact of his cancer when we had just seen him at the class reunion. Kim will always hold a place in my memory as the brother he was. I too am a Harley rider, 2001 Night Train, and Kim had to take it for a spin at the reunion. Great site guys and gals, and keep up the good work. See attached from when I picked it up at the Harley shop Jan 10 2001. Look a little different now, older, greyer, and fatter, ha ha.
All the respect in the world for Trish, she stood beside him when others would have bailed.

It is with a saddened heart but rejoicing that he is with Our Father; Jim "Slim Jim" Sims passed away on Tuesday, 2/20/2007 due to a fatal motorcycle accident.
Slim Jim was a great husband, father, grand father, and most of all; A child of God who spent the last 10+ years doing the Lord's work. Jim was also a Navy Vet.
Denise, his wife already had Jim cremated but his memorial service is Saturday, 2pm at Faith Alive Church in Chesapeake. 423 Shell Road Chesapeake VA 23323.
I am not looking to have a mission planned, kind of short notice. But I am requesting that we come together and show support for a fallen Christian and Vet Biker.
I will be organizing a group leaving from the "Waffle House" on Indian River Road near Kempsville. Kick stands up at 1300.
I appreciate it. If anyone has any questions, please contact me at 757-450-4190
God Bless,

To the Membership of TTMC:
The reports of my recent demise and/or disappearance/relocation have been exaggerated to some extent. (although not by much.) This is to inform the membership that I am still alive and kicking,( although not very high or hard these days.) I have just not had the finances to get out and do a lot this past summer much to my disappointment. I have kept an eye on the group website, from the pictures posted, seems I missed some great events. Oh well, such is life. I will attempt to make the next club meeting/breakfast to prove I did not send this from the great beyond,( do they have email service there?) Ride Safe my Friends, I hope to see you soon. This year's Bash was one of visual and emotional delights. Watching people swing the sledge hammer at the Honda; the Messenger's MC helping us put on the "Oh Shucks my ol' man's home" event; Biscuit wearing Wendy's bra; Roxane getting that special tattoo. . . and I haven't even looked at my pics yet. Once again we had a wonderful time at the Bash! Ya'll have watched my boys grow and helped me grow in my sobriety and I love every one of you for that. We got to see our family again and meet new friends...and how can you beat seeing Biscuit in my bra for the drag race?? I hope that pic comes out! Thanks for letting us be part of the family again, the boys and I got to help out (the boys loved feeling needed there too!), have fun, and make more memories. For the last four years, something crazy has happened before the Bash and knowing I had the fellowship and family to look forward to has helped me through it. Again, I learned more to help me grow and saw that I wasn't alone in things...with that, meetings, bikes, sobriety, fellowship, and family, who could ask for any more?? I hope everyone else had as much fun as we did!
Love,
Wendy and the boys

TTMC Family – This weekend was my first experience at an official TTMC “event” and I had a great time. Met some wonderful folks and watched your “family” pull together to host a great event of feasting, fun and fellowship. Good people sharing this journey side-by-side, walking out the hard stuff with grace, acceptance and dignity. Looking forward to new and continued friendships! Can't wait to get the pictures back.
Mommabear and Bullet, thanks for making me feel like the “special guest” of the “First Family”. Love you both.

Well it took a little over two years to complete. On the first anniversary of founding member Bonz' death we had a party in his honor, just like he requested before his death. We sat around and told stories about the man. Notes were taken. The archives were searched. Pictures were selected. Lots of work went into digital enhancement to make them presentable. But in the end, right before Easter, a little after the second anniversary of his passing, the Bonz memorial pages have been posted. It took that long to get over the grief, collect our collective thoughts and images, and present one of our founding members in a way that reflects our corporate, as well as individul, remembrance. We do not emulate the world nor turn our back on anyone either. If you need an answer then contact us and the same goes for prayer. We welcome everyone. There is a lot of hurt and misunderstanding out there so whatever your need it will be taken in confidence and trust. Our door is open so don't hesitate to come in. To All the Members of Third Tradition MC and Their Affiliates: I want to thank each and everyone of you for your kindness, thoughts, and support during this devastating time for me. Ed was my heart's blood and life. God only grants each of us so much time and gifts, and He gave me the greatest gift of all, though it not be for as long as planned or desired upon...Ed. I can say on behalf of Ed, that he truly reveled being with all of you at the Christmas Party a mere two weeks ago and how he got the biggest kick out of it being my debut to y'all. I am so happy that we were able to be there. I know that he's still riding with that ponytail and moustache flying madly in the wind in God's light and no bugs on the windshield. He'll be awating each of us in our time to ride with him or as his chase car. We've devastatingly lost a great friend...more than mere words can express. Again, thank you. May God bless and keep you......Pat |

To those that went to Seneca Rocks I just wanted to say I had a great time. Definitely time well spent. And Bullit, Some people feed off from shokcing others. I don't think thier sickness is shocking, just pathetic. Hopefuly they will learn to get a little self respect they seem to be lacking and learn what comes around goes around before it''s too late. We may not see ya'll again til the Christmas party but that's okay. Even not making it to the Women's Weekend was okay, I know there will be more to come.
Just wanted to tell ya'll that last weekend did wonders for my sobriety and I needed the getaway and fellowship more than I realized! The boys had a blast...even with Joey's head getting a lil gash in it haha!

Bash is one righteous party for the TTMC and our extended family. The 18th was better than ever and in a week or two the digital images will be posted in the album portion of this website.
In the interim you might want to look over images from the three (3) car wash events that we held to raise money for this event. Click on Album to the left and then go to Car Wash '05. I dunno, I took these pictures and I still can't imagine any other group of people looking so happy to be washing other peoples' cars. Dancing at the gas station. . . who would have imagined? |

Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault; they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty. Their chances are less than average. There are those, too, who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders, but many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest. Our stories disclose in a general way what we used to be like, what happened, and what we are like now. If you have decided you want what we have and are willing to go to any length to get it -- then you are ready to take certain steps. At some of these we balked. thought we could find an easier, softer way. But we could not. With all the earnestness at our command, we beg of you to be fearless and thorough from the very start. Some of us have tried to hold on to our old ideas and the result was nil until we let go absolutely.Remember that we deal with alcohol, cunning, baffling, powerful! Without help it is too much for us. But there is One who has all power that One is God. May you find Him now!
Half measures availed us nothing. We stood at the turning point. we asked His protection and care with complete abandon. Here are the steps we took, which are suggested as a program of recovery:
We admitted we were powerless over alcohol, that our lives had become unmanageable.
Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
The 12
Steps

Well I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head, that didn't hurt
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt.
Then I washed my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day.
I'd smoked my mind the night before
With cigarettes and the songs I'd been pickin'
But I lit my first and watched a small kid
Playin' with a can that he was kicking
Then I walked across the street
And caught the Sunday smell of someone's fryin' chicken
And it took me back to somethin'
That I'd lost somewhere, somehow along the way
On a Sunday morning sidewalk
I'm wishing Lord that I was stoned
'Cause there's something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone.
And there's nothin' short of dyin'
That's half as lonesome as the sound
Of a sleepin' city sidewalk
And Sunday mornin' comin' down. |

Lead Me and Guide Me
Almighty God, I humbly pray,
Lead me and guide me through this day.
Cast out my selfishness and sin,
Open my heart to let You in.
Help me now as I blindly stray
Over the pitfalls along the way.
Let me have courage to face each task,
Invest me with patience and love, I ask.
Care for me through each hour today,
Strengthen and guard me now, I pray.
As I forgive, forgive me too,
Needing Your mercy as I do.
Oh, give me Your loving care,
Never abandon me to despair.
Yesterday's wrongs I would seek to right.
Make me more prefect in Your sight.
Oh, teach me to live as best I can,
Use me to help my fellowman.
Save me from acts of bitter shame,
I humbly ask it in Your name.

I don’t know why I do it every year. Strap on the leathers, plug in the electric vest. Wear out the tires on the scooter in the mountains of West Virginia; get soaking wet on the way home, heading north out of Bristol, Tennessee. Good grief! I’m not even from Kentucky; I was born in Newark.
I think it’s the way the people out there smile.

I hit the enter key, rather than the tab and can't remove the previous blank message - No coment message. Since TTMC had it's regularly scheduled state meeting on this 3rd Sudnay, we took up a donation collection for your event. Trust the turnout for your run was good. It was a great day to ride in Richmond. Hope to see some of you ol' TTMC folks at the Christmas Party. |

Third Tradition Motorcycle Club prospect George Humphreys told us that he could make anything out of stainless steel. So the Sargent at Arms and I spent one very happy rainy Saturday afternoon making a pattern for him to work from. Looks nice with the stainless steel pipes, no? Click Here! |

I got cotton in the bottom land
It's up and growin' and I got a good stand
My good wife and them kids of mine
Gonna get new shoes, come Pickin' Time
Get new shoes come Pickin' Time.
It's hard to see by the coal-oil light
And I turn it off purty early at night
'Cause a jug of coal-oil costs a dime
But I stay up late come Pickin' Time
Ev'ry night when I go to bed
I thank the Lord that my kids are fed
They live on beans eight days and nine
But I get 'em fat come Pickin' Time
Last Sunday mornin' when they passed the hat
It was still nearly empty back where I sat
But the preacher smiled and said that's fine
The Lord'll wait til Pickin' Time !

Wanted man in California,
Wanted man in Buffalo
Wanted man in Kansas City,
Wanted man in Ohio
Wanted man in Mississippi,
Wanted man in ol' Cheyenne
Wherever you might look tonight you might see this wanted man
I might be in Colorado,
Or Georgia by the sea
Working for some man who may not know at all who I might be
If you ever see me coming and if you know who I am
Don't you breathe it to nobody 'cause you know I'm on the lamb
Wanted man by Lucy Watson,
Wanted man by Jeannie Brown
Wanted man by Nellie Johnson,
Wanted man in this next town
I've had all that I wanted of a lot of things I've had
And a lot more than I needed of some things that turned out bad
I got sidetracked in El Paso,
Stopped to get myself a map
Went the wrong way in Pleura with Juanita on my back
Went to sleep in Shreveport,
Woke up in Abilene
Wonderin' why I'm wanted at some town half way in between
Wanted man in Albuquerque,
Wanted man in Syracuse
Wanted man in Tallahassee,
Wanted man in Baton Rouge
There's somebody set to grab me
Anywhere that I might be
And wherever you might look tonight
You might get a glimpse of me
Wanted man in California,
Wanted man in Buffalo
Wanted man in Kansas City,
Wanted man in Ohio
Wanted man in Mississippi,
Wanted man in ol' Cheyenne
Wherever you might look tonight you might see this wanted man

Enjoying your website. I am in the Mesa AZ area and have not had much luck with "clean & sober " groups. They seem to tend to keep the old attitudes here.
I am moving to the Chesapeake area in the spring of 05 and hope to hook up with a solid CS outfit.
Rode with the "Alky Angels" when I was in WA state. They tend to Keep it simple and straightforward.
Just had a 10 year anniversary!!!

For your viewing pleasure, digital images from three (3) recent events have been added to the album section of this site.
Check out:
Under "Other Club Functions 2004", You can see the images from TTMC's recent 1,000 mile road trip to attend the first annual BBQ hosted by our friends in West Nyack, New York, the New Beginings MC;
For something closer to home, under "Other Club Functions 2004" check out the outrageous Field Party by our buds in the Sober Tramps MC;
and of course my favorite, the 2004 images from the John Kerr Dam under "Dam Run 2004". The first image from this series got 3,000 hits when I posted it on Photo.Net. Enjoy!

If you plan to attend the Roundup in West Bend, Wisconsin Tuesday August 3rd thru Sunday August 8th 2004, please stay for the VOTE Sunday morning at 9:00am and vote for North Carolina. Mustang...I see the design has evolved. It looks good on paper, but the solid bodies of the camel and eagle will just look like solid blobs on a single color T-shirt. We'd talked about line drawings with a modest amount of detail for the actual application. Are you still working toward that? Thanks for sharing your creative juices! |

Greetings bros. I check your site often since I found an old riding buddy in this guestbook and I've been to a couple of your parties. Great weekends. Had trouble downloadingn the flyer, but got it now. None of my business, but got a nosy question. Isn't the guy fussing on these pages a former member? Didn't he quit your club? If so, why can't he let go? Does he go to meetings? Seems like he should talk to his sponsor, or that he doesn't have one. Just an observation from a sober rider of 12 years and ALL 12 steps. |
