In Memory Of Kim Bodell
"Bonz"
Bonz, in cowboy hat, supervising the pig picking
People still recall the time Kim and Trish inadvertently hit a pothole with the Sportster. Both bounced off the saddle, but when Kim came back down he caught a sensitive part of his anatomy on the frame. He kind of leaned forward in pain, slowly rolled off the throttle and got over to the side of the road. He couldn't get off the bike. Kim sat there while Roger asked him if he was OK. Kim could barely talk but he managed to say that he just needed to breathe for a minute or too. Roger took that opportunity to tell Kim how impressive it was to see him come so far off the saddle and how much it must have hurt to come down on the frame like that.
But Kim got back at Roger. Roger worked at a bakery that baked the buns for McDonald's. One day Kim came into the bakery with half a bun on a paper plate and a candle stuck in it. Roger looked up and Kim said, This is all the birthday cake you're getting from me you old goat.
Roger's mother, affectionately known to all as Granny was extremely proud of the fact that her son was in a program of recovery. One time she invited the club up to her place. Kim was giving Trish a hard time about something. Granny came up to Kim, hit him on the side of the head and said, You don't treat my girls that way. Kim turned around and just as serious as could be said, OK Granny. Kim darn near froze coming back from Granny's funeral in January; he'd insisted on riding the bike instead of the truck.
